Actually, a surface file contains no points at all.  In IFF parlance,
it's a FORM LWOB with nothing but a SURF chunk.  LWOBs that are really
objects also have PNTS, POLS, SRFS and any number of SURF chunks (and
with plug-ins, maybe some other stuff, too).

Conversely, you can specify an *object* file when you Load Surface.  The
surface that gets loaded is the first one stored in the object file.
